Alumni Website and Online Community Wins Awards	A A A

The Empire State College alumni website has won four awards since we completed our website redesign and established our alumni online community in January of 2008. These awards were granted by CASE, SUNYCUAD and LERN.org the main advancement professional organizations.

June 2008 - "Best of Category" for alumni website awarded by SUNYCUAD - the professional advancement organization for SUNY colleges. (State University of New York Council for University Advancement) in New York CIty. SUNYCUAD Award  (Cursor down to alumni websites)

March 2009 - "Gold Award" awarded by CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) at their annual conference in Baltimore, MD.

June 2009 - "Best of Category" for online community site awarded by SUNYCUAD - the professional advancement organization for SUNY colleges. (State University of New York Council for University Advancement) in New York CIty. See the press release here.

November 2009 - "Exemplary Alumni Homepage" awarded by LERN.org. LERN is the Learning Resources Network and is an International organization supporting lifelong learning programs. View the Exemplary Homepage award here.

Based upon, alumni feedback, we initiated a complete overhaul and redesign of our alumni website in August of 2007 and created a college-branded online community. The new sites went live in January 2008. We focused on making the site more emotional to our users, interactive, easy to navigate and with enhanced usability.

Some of the new website features added were:

• Alumni profiles
• Photo slideshows of events
• Online event signup
• Add your news page
• Connection to online community
• New services and benefits
• Email, print and share icons to news sites
• Icon links to our groups on the social networks (Facebook, YouTube, Linkedin)

We believe our alumni are our best ambassadors and deserve a well-designed and cutting edge website and robust online community to meet their needs. We welcome all alumni to visit and browse around the site and interact with the various features and join the online community. Feel free to contact us with any suggestions.
