The Fund for Empire State College

An old friend gets a makeover. The Annual Fund becomes the Fund for Empire State College.

Last year’s 40th anniversary celebration presented us with a unique opportunity to ask for your thoughts and guidance in planning for the future of the college.  One of the most important areas we asked about was our fundraising efforts – specifically what inspires you to financially support the college, or if you have not done so, what might motivate you to give.  Your responses to our survey and to personal discussions were open, honest and admirable – and we listened.

Many of you went out of your way to say that, even in these difficult financial times, you will still support the college that had such a positive impact on your life.  You said that you give to have an immediate impact and that you expect us to share how your support is making a difference. 

And so, we are pleased to announce that, in 2012, the Empire State College Annual Fund assumes a new identity: The Fund for Empire State College.

Welcoming Tina Evans ’97 as Chair of The Fund for Empire State College

I am pleased to announce that alumna and Empire State College Foundation Board member Tina Evans ‘97 has taken over the role of Chair of The Fund for Empire State College.  Tina replaces Ann Turner ‘86 who has provided wonderful leadership as Chair of the Annual Fund since 2010.  While Chair, Ann worked tirelessly to promote alumni participation and support of the recently renamed Fund for Empire State College.  I thank Ann for her dedication and hard work as Chair and will continue to rely on her experience and expertise as a member of the Empire State College Foundation Board of Directors.

Tina is stepping into her new role with enthusiasm and excitement.  To start off strong, she and her husband Wayne have offered a challenge gift to encourage her fellow alumni to support The Fund for Empire State College.  Please join me in welcoming Tina in her new role and read on to learn about how you can participate in this wonderful challenge opportunity.
