What three words best describe who and what you are?
Energized. Empathetic. Kind.

What inspired you to earn your college degree? What was your “moment”?
I was a histologist for 25 years and was grandfathered in. I didn’t need a degree, one day my boss asked me for my diploma and I had to explain why I didn’t have one. I was embarrassed. I went back to school at SUNY Empire for my AS in Interdisciplinary Studies and continued on for my BS in Healthcare Management.

Why did you choose to attend ESC?
Flexibility and mentorship.

Who supported and encouraged you along the way?
Diane Siberio, my husband and my children.

What, if any, obstacles did you overcome?
A lot: financial obstacles, work/learning balance, family responsibilities.

What advice would you give to a prospective ESC student?
I am always encouraging my staff to reach out to ESC because we receive a very generous tuition reimbursement package. Same reasons I choose, affordability, flexibility and mentorship.

Why do you give back to SUNY Empire?
Because of my wonderful journey with SUNY Empire.

How has your experience at ESC changed your life since graduation?
I am confident with my new role as a healthcare manager. The confidence you gain is amazing once you have a degree to be proud of.

Anything else you would like to share?
Investing in education opens so many doors. I would encourage people to do this!
