Why did you choose Empire State College? What do you think is the best thing about the college?
I chose ESC because I could use my years of experience towards credits. It allowed me the opportunity to study on my own time, especially while I was working and studying at the same time. I had a lot of support from the professors who were conducting the courses.

How did Empire State College help you shape your personal and professional goals?
As I designed my diploma I had a lot of guidance from my mentor Ms. Patricia Torcivia. She was instrumental in helping me figure out what would be the best course for me to follow.

What is your career highlight or proudest career moment to date?
Since I have become a teacher, I have many of my colleagues come to me to help them with planning and management.

What advice would you give to a current Empire State College student?
There are times when one might feel overwhelmed with a deadline. My advice is: don’t give up, contact your professor and they will help you by either extending your deadlines or giving you advice on how to organize your work.

Why do you give back to SUNY Empire?
I feel so grateful to SUNY for giving me the opportunity to earn my degree. It would have never been possible in my part of the world.

Anything else you would like to share with fellow alumni and students?
SUNY Empire has given me the chance to make my dream come true. I hope that each and everyone who dreams of getting a college degree would get the chance to enroll at SUNY Empire or any college that offers long distance studies.
