Early Childhood Residency at The Strong: Super Heroes and Child's Play
|Description:||Alumni often mention how much they miss the Empire Learning experience. Join us at the Strong for a one-day interactive experience with our Early Childhood Students.|
|More Info:||Current research points to play as an integral part of learning and development. So where does imaginative play with good guys, bad guys and super heroes fit in? What about rough and tumble play? In this residency, participants will explore the potential of such play to support the skill development, self-regulation, and social-emotional growth of infants, toddlers, preschooler and primary age students. Hands on experiences will include opportunities for play observation and documenting in the exciting exhibits of The Strong Museum. Participants will have opportunities to engage in small group discussions and to apply their understanding to their own practice.
This event is 9:00am-3:00pm. Lunch and refreshments are included. Certificates of attendance will be provided. This is an adult continuing education program. Guests over 18 are welcome, registration is required.
