Bus Trip to Washington, DC Museums
|Description:||Join the student club "ED for All" for a bus trip from NYC to Washington DC. Visit the Smithsonian: the American Indian Museum, and the Museum of African American History.|
|More Info:||The American Indian Museum holds a diverse and multifaceted cultural and educational collection of Native artifacts, photographs and archives, offering exhibition galleries, performances and lectures about Native American Culture. The National Museum of African American History and Culture is the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history, and culture. Both museums will allow students to see how their stories, their histories, and their cultures are shaped by a people's journey and a nation's story.
This is a pay event. Online sign up is required. A bag breakfast will be provided.
The coach bus will meet us at the State Building in Harlem. (163 W. 125th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Blvd.) The bus will depart at 5:30am. We will meet the bus at 6pm for the return trip to NYC.
The Smithsonian Visitor Center is open daily from 8:30am-5:30pm. Both museums we are visiting are walking distance from the Visitor Center (Castle). In order that you gain admission to the African American Museum, you will need to meet at the Museum Group entrance at 12:45pm. Contact Tanya for more information.
