One Day ESC: Early Childhood Residency
|Description:||One Day ESC: Early Childhood Residency- Building Stronger Foundations With Play|
|More Info:||Being an ESC alumni is all about lifelong learning. Alumni are invited to join us for an exciting day of classroom learning, engaging conversations, with fun activities! No final papers required! Join us for an exciting day at our annual Early Childhood Residency.
How does play build strong emotional foundations for learning and development? In this residency, students will examine strategies for maximizing the potential for play to support learning and development in their work with children ages birth through eight. During the spring term, students register for one or more courses that combine independent study with an on-site meeting at The Strong National Museum of Play. During the time at the museum participants will have opportunities to engage in small and whole group discussions, observe play in The Strong's interactive exhibits, and to apply their understanding to their own practice.
Guests and non-degree students are welcome to attend the day at the museum and do not need to register for one of the credit bearing courses. Certificates of Attendance will be issued and may be used for professional development credit in some situations.
This is an adult only academic event which is split between two locations. In the morning will be at Empire State College, 680 Westfall Road, Rochester New York 14620, in the afternoon will be held at The Strong National Museum of Play, One Manhattan Square Drive, Rochester, NY 14607. Attendees have access to the museum at the close of the Residency.
