The Philadelphia Orchestra American Festival Day 2: All Gershwin. Maestro Marin Alsop conducts an evening dedicated to the music of cherished American composer George Gershwin. Celebrated alongside his brother and collaborator, Ira, as one of the finest contributors to the American songbook, Gershwin created melodies that transcend changing times. Together the brothers composed over two dozen scores for Broadway and Hollywood in addition to many individual hit songs.

The Marcus Roberts Trio is known for its virtuosic style and entirely new approach to jazz trio performance. While most jazz trios have the piano front and center, all members of the Marcus Roberts Trio share equally in shaping the direction of the music by changing its tempo, mood, texture, or form at any time.

Performance tickets will be picked up at the registration table at the Auto Museum.
