Dyson Foundation Scholarship in Nursing
To be awarded to undergraduate or graduate nursing students with financial need residing and working in Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam or Ulster Counties. Students must intend to continue living and working in those specified counties in a health care profession after graduation. Repeat awards will be made to the same student each year until they graduate, as long as they remain academically successful.
Fred and Floy Willmott Foundation Scholarship in Nursing
The Willmott Scholarship is awarded to nursing students in Rochester. Award will be made to same student for 3 years, as long as they are successfully progressing in the program.
Hohenhaus Family Nursing Scholarship
Established in 2007 by Susan Hohenhaus, an Empire State College alumna who received her Bachelor’s degree in 2003 and her Master’s degree in 2005. This scholarship will be awarded each fall to a deserving student with financial need enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program.
Julia O. Wells Memorial Education Foundation Scholarship
Established by the Julia O. Wells Memorial Education Foundation, this scholarship supports students pursuing a degree in professional nursing. Fifty percent of the total allotment must be awarded to Memorial Hospital School of Nursing alumni. The other fifty percent may be awarded to non-Memorial alumni.
Mohawk Valley Medical Associates Scholarship
Awarded to nursing students from the nine-county Mohawk Valley geographic area (Schenectady, Saratoga, Fulton, Montgomery, Warren, Washington, Albany, Rensselaer and Schoharie), who demonstrate financial need and plan to work in the Mohawk Valley Medical Associates area after graduation from the nursing program.
The Nancy C. Harvin "Bless Your Heart” Scholarship was created in 2015 by Dr. Nancy Kymn Harvin Rutigliano, a professor at SUNY Empire State College. The scholarship honors her mother, Nancy Collier Harvin, who is known for her deep wisdom, sage advice, and Southern hospitality. This scholarship is designed to support students in need who reflect Nancy's life of service and values and want to “bless hearts” as she has done throughout her life. Preference is given to students who are beginning or returning to college after raising a family or caring for those in need; have a passion for serving others and our country; seek to be “trailblazers” and courageous leaders who fight for the less fortunate, and enroll through the School of Nursing or in the Community and Human Services program.
New York Community Bank Foundation Scholarship in Nursing
New York Community Bank Foundation Nursing Scholars will be selected on the basis of financial need, representation of the diversity of the area, and academic promise. A student who makes satisfactory progress may receive multi-year awards until she or he completes the program. Students must reside on Long Island.
The scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate students enrolled in the School of Nursing. Preference is given to students living or working in the Capital Region of New York. Multi-year awards are preferred. The Stat Staff Professionals Nursing Scholarship will help defray educational expenses for students who meet the established Foundation Scholarship eligibility criteria – including matriculation, appropriate GPA, and successful academic progress.
SUNY Graduate Diversity Fellowship Program (GDFP)
This program will assist the college in the recruitment, enrollment and retention of students in master's level programs who can demonstrate that they will contribute to the diversity of the student body in their program and that they have overcome a disadvantage or other impediment to success in higher education. Preference is given to applicants who have not yet enrolled as a matriculated graduate student at Empire State College. The fellowship covers tuition and fees for the fall and spring terms. T. Urling and Mabel Walker Endowed Scholarship in Nursing
Established in 2009 by Empire State College alumna and former diploma nurse, Mabel Walker and her husband T. Urling Walker. The T. Urling and Mabel Walker Endowed Scholarship in Nursing will be awarded to a student or students from Watertown pursuing a degree through Empire State College’s Nursing Program. Students will be selected based on geographic location, academic promise and financial need. If there are no students from Watertown the scholarship will go to a student from the greater North Country area.
