Why did you choose Empire State College? What do you think is the best thing about the college?
SUNY Empire provided the best mix of accreditation and flexibility. I was not so interested in a university that wouldn’t be fully recognized by employers or graduate schools. Also; there was no way as a full time employee that I could finish by bachelors going to night school, only.

How did Empire State College help you shape your personal and professional goals?
It supported my promotion from a non-exempt to exempt employee and to set the stage in getting a Masters in Systems Engineering on my way to executive positions.

What is your career highlight or proudest career moment to date?
Winning the Xerox President’s Award for excellence and in getting my business-consulting company, The WorkOut Consortium, certified as a Woman Owned Business.

What advice would you give to a current Empire State College student?
Remember to treat your ‘unique’ methods of accruing credits the same as if you were attending traditional classes. Meaning; carve out the time needed study and do the work. It’s not a fit-it-in, series of learnings.

Anything else you would like to share with fellow alumni and students?
Don’t quit studying, learning, and/or getting further education once you graduate. Think of it like eating; you can’t quit having meals just because you ate breakfast!
