Alumni Student Federation Board of Governors Announces 2019 Alumni Award Winners
Four SUNY Empire alumni have been recognized for their lasting impact on society and the college through their outstanding professional, military, philanthropic or volunteer accomplishments. The awardees include: Danielle Asher ’18, recipient of the 2019 Community Impact Award;Christopher Feeley ’86, recipient of the 2019 Distinguished Leader Award; Raul Rodriguez ’17, recipient of the inaugural Veteran Service Award; Pamela Say-Witter ’17,recipient of the 2019 Emerging Leader Award.

Four Selected for the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence
Four SUNY Empire State College students have been selected to receive the Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence, the SUNY system’s most prestigious student honor. They are: Wales A. Brown ’15, ’18, formerly of Schenectady; Lynn Ann Hinds McCoy ’16, a resident of Canastota; Tatiana C. Parker, a North Syracuse resident; Julian Wyllie ’18, who lives in Manhattan.

Why did you choose SUNY Empire? What do you think is the best thing about the college?
I chose SUNY Empire based on comments and referrals from friends. Also, there an office at our local community college and I stopped in for an informational session to see what it was all about. SUNY Empire let me set up my own path and I had an amazing mentor who encouraged me the entire way.
