STEM Club Trip to Central Park Zoo
|Description:||Join the Empire State College STEM club on a trip to the Central Park Zoo in New York.|
|More Info:||The zoo is home to an indoor rain forest, a chilled penguin house and a previously unoccupied polar bear pool now occupied by a pair of grizzly bear siblings. It also coordinates breeding programs for some endangered species: tamarin monkeys, Wyoming toads, thick-billed parrots and red pandas. There are fruit bats in the rainforest and a large free-flight area for birds. Tickets for this event are $10.50 payment can be made online. Tickets can be picked up at the zoo on October 19th. Directions: BY SUBWAY: Take the N, R, or Q trains to the Fifth Avenue/59th Street station in Manhattan, and walk north four blocks to 64th Street. Or take the Lexington Avenue #6 train to the 68th Street/Hunter College station, walk west 3 blocks to Fifth Avenue, then take a left and walk four blocks south. BY BUS: The following buses stop on Fifth Avenue from the north or Madison Ave from the south, between 59th and 65th Streets: M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, M66, Q32.
