My Color is Beautiful - Black History Art Exhibition
|Description:||This exhibition invites artists from all ethnic groups to reflect on quotes made by blacks in history.|
|More Info:||My Color is Beautiful is the theme for 2017 Black History Month art exhibit. The idea is to create artworks that reflect on the chosen quote. There are countless incredible quotes from famous and not famous African American figures from all walks of life: such as Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Muhammad Ali, Alma Thomas, Elizabeth Catlett, Maya Angelou, and President Barack Obama.
Celebrate Black History month incorporating your favorite quote with your artwork.
The selection for this jury show is based on the artist's interpretation of the theme that reflects the chosen quote. The jury selection of the artworks includes a body of work or a work of art that represents the celebration of Black history, quality of presentation, and a one-page statement by the artist (two paragraphs, to be submitted upon acceptance). There is approximately 5-7 feet of space per artist, maximum size 40 inches in either direction. Minimum size 14x16 inches (including frame). Artworks should be ready for hanging with proper hardware (instructions will follow upon acceptance of artwork).
Artwork is to be hand-delivered to the gallery (no mails-in).
