What three words best describe who and what you are?
Ambitious. Dedicated. Intelligent.

What inspired you to earn your college degree? What was your “moment”?
Way back when I graduated high school (2002), I set a personal goal to obtain a Bachelor’s degree. It didn’t happen right away but in the process I obtained an Associates degree in Business Administration from SUNY Adirondack in 2007. Overall it took me 16 years to achieve my goal of earning a Bachelors Degree in Business, Management, and Economics with a concentration in Finance

Why did you choose to attend ESC?
I needed to attend classes online and I really liked the idea of “creating” my own personalized degree.

Who supported and encouraged you along the way?
My mentor Himanee Gupta-Carlson was extremely helpful throughout my studies at ESC.

What, if any, obstacles did you overcome?
I overcame several obstacles in route to earning my Bachelor’s degree including 3 DWI’s. These poor decisions kept delaying my goal of graduating with a Bachelor’s degree.

What advice would you give to a prospective ESC student?
Time-management is essential to perform well when taking online classes. I would also suggest to maintain an open line of communication with your mentor to assist with registering and planning your degree.

Why do you give back to SUNY Empire?
The college helped me achieve a personal goal of mine that was 16 years in the making.
